Canterbury Punting Co.
The scene is set from the moment you step into our authentic Edwardian waiting room. You will be guided by staff in full period uniform. Our river tours last about 45 minutes, whilst you pass several medieval buildings the punter tells you the exciting stories about Canterbury's history.
Our Historic Day Tour starts at the Poor Priests Hospital 1174. We then pass the Greyfriars Island, home to the oldest Franciscan building in the UK. Next we pass under the Eastbridge hospital, built for pilgrims visiting Canterbury in the 12th century. On our way down to the remains of the Kings Mill we pass several other medievalbuildings including the Blackfriars Dominican priory.
The Historic Day Tour is the only tour which can be purchased via the E-Shop. Alternative tour such as our Haunted River Tour or our Romantic tour cannot currently be booked via the E-Shop and will need to be booked by telephone 07786332666 or email email@example.com
We are open form 10am-5pm everyday April through October. Simply present a printout of your e-ticket to receive your tour.
Subject to river conditions April-October we are open 10am to 5pm every day. Tours leave every 20 minutes. We also send tours out of normal hours, but you will need to book these by telephone.
Occasionally following heavy rain, tours may have to be stopped due to high river flow. You will be refunded or offered an alternative route through the countryside where the river is generally more calm.
